The famous Wellco made jungle boots tested by SOG for use in Laos and Cambodia. The idea being to look like indig barefeet tracks instead of the easily tracked USGI issue vibram sole jungle boot.

I’m sure it only took you a few seconds to see why they didn’t work. Not comfortable with no traction. The fake foot wore fast and didn’t leave a track that looked real. The problem was solved when they started dropping used and turned in USGI jungle boots in key places for the PAVN and VC to “capture.” Pretty soon it was common to see PAVN troops killed or captured wearing these “lost” jungle boots. After a large portion of PAVN forces were wearing the US boots the worry of the uncommon vibram track being found in enemy base areas became less severe.
