I have seen various mounts for a Unertl to work on an AR15. The earliest I’ve seen was done by a USMC RTE armorer in Vietnam. It mounted the USMC contract 8X Unertl to an M16. Reading his comments on it gave me the impression he did it just to see if he could do it.
Recently one of the boys in the Unertl group decided to copy that solution.
I guess he did pull it off. Can’t imagine why he chose the particular AR15 he did.

It looks very well done. I just wish he’d have wiped the Dykem (the red stuff on the top of the aluminum mounting rail) off of it before taking the pics.
