Pretty cool. RIA is getting ready to auction of one of Elvis’ 6 shooters. A Model 53 S&W in .22 Remington Jet.

The neat thing about the 53 to me is the round it fires and its ability to shoot 22. long rifle. The gun is chambered for the .22 Remington Jet, but came with inserts that worked as conversions to let you shoot .22LR.

The inserts above, look like some one forgot the priming step while reloading.

The .22 Rem Jet above was cooked up from necking down a 357 Mag case. I never have shot one, but I did get to handle one once about 15 or so years ago. I walked into my friend’s gun/pawn shop and he had just taken one on pawn. He asked me what it was since the inserts and chambering was not something he’d ever heard of ( typical for most pawn shop owners). I explained it to him and how it worked and we both crossed out fingers hoping the pawn would not be picked up by the owner. Sad to say he came and got it.

I haven’t seen any of the ammo since about 2001. I would be surprised if its still factory produced.

If you really want a special one, you can always bid on The King’s.
