Our pal, Alex has picked up one of the new M16A1 clones branded as Harrington & Richardson from what used to be Nodak and is now owned by PSA. He tried one of the Brownells A1 clones from a few years ago and wasn’t happy. It had problem after problem and left a lot to be desired.

He is pretty happy with this one and it does look pretty damned good.

Alex has made a couple changes to make it easier for him to use as a lefty. Not worried about total historical accuracy. He added an ambi safety, a Norgon ambi mag release and a charging handle. All great upgrades on any other AR but not something I would have done being a spurg about Vietnam war stuff. He is going to give us a full report on it later and try to harvest a deer with it this season. I am eager to see a deer whacked by it.

He tells me that you can buy the same rifle with a 1/7 twist rate barrel which I thing is very tempting. An A1 rifle that will handle the full range of 5.56 ammo is a great idea in my opinion.
