The original reviews of these two got lost with LooseRounds and I can’t recover them. But, I did manage to find these two pictures from the accuracy tests.
Getting new T&E guns from Colt is hard post COVID. They haven’t really sent any out to anyone. Not even the BIG NAMES. But hopefully that will resolve soon. Until then, if you are thinking about picking up a new Colt 6 shooter, here is a taste of their accuracy. I also still maintain the new Python is better than the originals.
The groups were shot off bench and bags at 25 yards using vintage boxes of the old full wadcutter Mid-range 38 special target loads.

I wandered into the local Merchant of Death a couple weeks ago and he said, this came in not fifteen minutes ago, you gotta check out this trigger.
It was a brand new 6″ Anaconda and both the single and double action trigger pulls right out of the box were fantastic. You’d have thought somebody really good had worked on it, but apparently Colt shipped it that way.
Exterior finish was flawless, and I looked really hard. Some very minor machine marks on interior surfaces of the crane and crane cut-out but that was it.
And no, I did not buy it. The gun had been ordered in by someone else……..

the modern python is superior to the originals I dont care what anyone says otherwise.

The new ones have only a stainless finish. The Colt Royal Blue was a finish that separates the originals from the new ones.

Hopefully that trigger will be as nice as the one I fondled.
I’m not paying the kinda money old Pythons go for to find out if they’re as good or better or worse. Although sooner or later, I’ll buy one of the new ones, the older snake guns are wildly overpriced for what you get in my opinion, and I choose to not participate in that kind of circular firing squad.
