My friends have a dedicated website now (https://arvnuniforms.com/), You can go there and get about anything you want in any cut of most of the uniforms. You have seen me wearing the ARVN “seawave” tigerstripe many times in hunting photos and have asked about it. These guys make very affordable repros that look legit. You can even get some very hard to find patterns.

They aren’t perfect( what is?) but they are damned close. They price can’t be beat. Made in Vietnam by Vietnamese  Order your usual US correct size. about Shipping is very fast. You can trust these guys, I know them and will vouch.

I’m boggled (and I suppose I really shouldn’t be surprised by gummint corruption and stupidity) every time I see a pic of a US Army grunt wearing that stupid damned UCP blue colour junk from a few years ago. They had fairly effective camouflage like this going back to Vietnam, and they chose a pattern that actually made grunts more visible in almost every type of terrain. 🙄

I’ve always thought the Jarheads Marpat looked pretty effective for most US and Euro landscapes.

I use Kryptek Highlander when out hunting because it’s perfect for the dusty khaki/brown scrub and dry grasslands in my AO.

I agree whole heartedly with LSWCP regarding the Army ACU/UCP being garbage. We were stuck with that ridiculous uniform for about 10 years before we got our OCP’s (Multi-Cam). I was on a patrol in the jungles of Thailand in 2004 when the ACU was initially forced on us. The ACU stuck out in the jungle like a fluorescent beacon.

Millions of dollars were wasted developing the ACU, when we would have been much better off with the older Woodland Camo BDU, OG107 Jungle Fatigue or the Tiger Stripes in the jungle.

I’m pretty sure the “sell” on the ACU was that one camo pattern could cover both jungle and desert environments, instead of having to stock 2 camo patterns: Woodland Camo BDU for jungle and DCU’s for desert. Problem is that the ACU sucked in both environments. It was so bad that we broke regulations (not like that was uncommon) and wore the DCU on missions in Iraq in 2007/2008 instead of wearing the ridiculous ACU. By 2007, the DCU was already 2 years out of service an no longer an authorized uniform, but we didn’t care.

Universal Camo Pattern is its actual name, it is universally bad any where other than a gravel pit
