I had been friends with Rick for a few years via facebook. What a really great, nice guy with a beautiful family. He sent me a very funny meme the day before he died and to my eternal regret I did not see it in time to respond before he passed away. We are all truly diminished.

Richard R. Dressler, 75, of DuBois and Brockway, died unexpectedly, at home, in Brockway on August 14, 2024.
A son of the late Oscar “Lemoine” and Rachel (Granater) Dressler, he was born on November 20, 1948, in DuBois, PA.
On April 22, 1996, he married Kathryn (Mosley), who survives.
Along with his wife, Rich is survived by three daughters, Sarah (Brad Yori) Mosley of Sligo, Rachel Dressler of Palmetto, FL, and Laura Dressler of Brockport; and six grandchildren, Noah, Harper, Ira, Lydia, Lana, and Lainey.
Rich served in the Army during the Vietnam era.
He served two separate tours and has over twelve years of total service time.
He achieved the rank of sergeant, receiving two bronze stars and the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the VFW and the SOI, both of Brockway, the Horton Sportsmen’s, Sandy Hose Company, Olympic Athletic Club, and the Penfield Firemen’s.
He lived most of his life in DuBois.
A (casually attired) Celebration of Life will be held, 2–6 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Bandit’s Hideaway of Brockport, PA, with the DuBois Area Honor Guard according military honors at 3 p.m.
Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
The family suggests memorials to the Brockway VFW or the Horton Sportsmen’s and will be accepting online condolences at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home website (www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com).
