Caspian in .45 ACP by Greg Copeland (Copeland Customs) out of Arkansas City Kansas. Greg made serious guns for serious shooters and that is apparent in this stout build. The slide on this gun surgically articulates on the lower like a well worn European P210. In other words, it’s slick!! This purpose built 1911 features Scheumann match grade barrel with its distal end shored up with a Briley bushing containing its internal spherical titanium ring. Harrison and Wilson parts are beautifully fit and dehorned and this one shoots to point of aim with its adjustable serrated Kensight. Much to @realcameronhopkins chagrin that will be soon replaced with a fixed Novak. This one now detail stripped and cleansed with OCD-level focus after yesterday’s flawless range session. The heaviness and fit of Caspians make them amazing pew sticks. I’m slowly getting over my previous unfounded smugness towards them. Greg tragically passed away at 64 years old. If you follow this page, you know that I am interested in the lives of these gunsmiths almost as much as their guns. It’s an all too often story that these guys pass away at an early age, and I’m convinced (as a doctor) that it’s because of chronic lead poisoning. So, I’m gonna say it one more time assholes: Use lead soap and lead wipes after you shoot or handle guns.
