This crazy 80 series pew stick was built by Clarence Alexander “Paco” Raville, who was a skilled machinist, gunsmith, engineer, and inventor based in Southern California. He is best known for founding Caraville Arms, a company that developed the innovative “Double Ace” conversion unit for 1911-style pistols. This aftermarket kit transformed the traditional single-action 1911 into a squeeze-cocking mechanism, similar to the design of the Heckler & Koch P7. The conversion replaced the grip safety with a front grip lever; when squeezed, this lever cocked the hammer, allowing the pistol to be fired. This design aimed to enhance safety and provide a unique double-action firing experience for 1911 enthusiasts. Did it catch on? Of course not, because it was stupid. Thank god this gun doesn’t have one.
