This little pocket rocket is a Caspian in .45 ACP with Colt slide (housing an Ed Brown pipe) by Tom Kister. Tom was one of the many talented gunsmiths at Kings Gunworks. After the legendary Paul Liebenberg left Pachmayr, he started Pistol Dynamics (circa 1987) in an old motel turned into industrial condos in Glendale California. Liebenberg lured Kister away from Kings, with the promise to mentor him. Unfortunately, the relationship was short lived, dissolving when Paul left to head up the storied Performance Center at Smith and Wesson. Kister, now left for dead, unable to go back to Kings, set out to make it on his own. He and another talented gunsmith named Don Kehoe started a custom pistol shop they called Fourth Dimension. Fourth Dimension was also a short lived entity, because Kehoe left gunsmithing to become a police officer. I guess he needed benefits and a steady paycheck. Kister subsequently moved to Arizona (where this pistol was born) where he would live out his years as a makeshift cowboy shooting SASS. Many thanks to my friend Jim Oyoung, a highly accomplished Steel Challenge shooter, for the information on Tom and for pointing me in the direction of this gun. Officer grips by Pachmayr.
