80 series 1911 Colt by custom pistolsmith David Clevinger out of Arvada Colorado. Dave wears many hats. In addition to being a custom pistolsmith, he is also a master engraver, a police armorer for Thornton PD, an accomplished (nationally ranked) power lifter, and a teacher at his Alma mater—the Colorado School of Trades. I tirelessly searched for one of Dave’s guns for years, but he doesn’t make many of them, and those that have them, generally don’t sell them. I was excited and honored to be offered this gun from a friend who runs a local gun shop. This beautiful Colt is shod in hand checkered, double diamond Bocote stocks, by the venerable Craig Spegel…because we are not communists.
