RIA is about to auction of McGivern’s most famous 6 gun. I’ve seen a lot of his collection at the NRA museum in DC but they did not have this one that I can recall. Seems like they did at the time but that was back in 2010.
They sure don’t make’em like him anymore do they? We all know that gun was pretty close to stock. As awesome as Jerry is, we know his guns are slicked up by the S&W performance center to near perfection. Maybe its a tendency to romanticize the old timers but they seem to have been able to pull off stuff even the best shooters of our time can’t replicate when using just plain old basic stuff. On a tangent, a fictional version of McGivern is portrayed in Stephen Hunter’s excellent book, A Pale Horse Coming along with other famous gun writers and personalities of the era. Big recommend from me on that book.
