1978 Colt 70 series 1911 in 45 ACP, by pistol-smith Teddy Jacobson (Actions by T). Teddy was legendary for his action jobs. He prepared handguns for street carry, which is why 50% of his clients were cops. Teddy jeweled any and everything that wasn’t nailed down on a gun. If you see a Teddy gun in the wild, you will understand —they could get pretty disco, but hey, it was the 80s. A long time ago I had the pleasure of talking to Teddy, and let’s just say he’s a total trip. Like most eccentric people, he’s highly intelligent, brooks absolutely no bullshit, and is a total blast to talk to. And no, he does not roll on the shabbos. From a health standpoint I suspect he is on the back 9, so when Teddy is no longer of this world, I will hold this gun, occasionally pew it, and make sure the next generation doesn’t forget who he was. And yes, grips by Craig Spegel…because we are not communists.
