While at the local gun show this weekend we ran across something that almost made us cry. An 1890 first generation Colt SAA that some one had cerakote. From a distance I thought it was one of those matte stainless knock offs.

The dealer was asking 1,000 for it. Which I think isn’t really a bad deal if you could get the coating removed and refinished. Of course few serious collectors would want it but it would be a hell of a good deal for some one that wanted a real Model P from the old west they could use and not feel guilty about. I’m not going to lie, I did give it serious consideration for a minute.

    That’s quite the drag line on the cylinder. That kinda abuse didn’t harpoon overnight, so I wonder what else that poor thing has been subjected to.
