Compensated Delta Elite by Austin Behlert— aka “The Butcher.” Behlert began his career in the 1950s, becoming one of the earliest pioneers in competitive pistolsmithing, especially in the emerging combat shooting disciplines. Based in Cranford, New Jersey, he gained a reputation as an exceptional innovator in handgun customization. Over the years he mentored several well known gunsmiths including George Smith (EGW), his son in law Art Leckie, and Errol Lawson. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 87. This masterpiece features his welded up and stippled (love it or hate it) finger groove front strap, his space age trigger guard housing a 2.5 pound pivoting trigger, checkered MSH, Bomar burried sight, integral comp, extended slide release, extended magazine release, lowered and flared ejection port, magwell, and master blue over hard chrome. For me it doesn’t get much better than this.
