Colt 70 series 1911 in .45 ACP by 2014 APG Pistolsmith of the Year and industry legend Terry Tussey out of Mound House Nevada. Squared and checkered trigger guard, burried Bomar rear sight, Swenson thumb safety, sculpted beaver tail, magwell, two tone with chrome lower, Clark hard fit match grade barrel…this one checks all the boxes for me. Late in his career, Tussey was paralyzed in a bike accident from the waist down, but he still had full use of his arms and hands, so he smithed up until his final days. He died at the age of 80, succumbing to a respiratory infection. He was well liked by everybody in the industry and on my list of gunsmiths who mattered. Oh yea, he made 1911s for actor Steven Seagal….because nobody else would. This one finally found proper grips made by Craig Spegel. You idiots keep selling em…I’ll keep buying em..
