Does anyone know if the parts interchange with original browinings? Either way, I want one of these Springfield Hi Powers, since I collect them.
I have an Inglis No. 1 mk1, No. 2, Mk1*, FN L9A1 (FTR-63), FN MkIII (Israeli Police Marked) and an FM Argentine. Would love to add a Springfield to the mix.
Someone found the entire slide interchanges perfectly with his Mk III. (I forget where I read it, though. Sorry.) If true, it doesn’t say that smaller assemblies or individual parts will, too; but it’s suggestive.
Ring hammer? Check.
Really nice sights? Check.
Really nice grips? Check.
Extended safety? Check.
15 +1? Check.
Decent metal finish? Check.
Alleged elsewhere to have tuned trigger? Check.
About the only thing missing are the traditional matching serial numbers on frame, slide and barrel.
Only the 8 or 9 FN/Browning guns already in the safe are holding me back.

I’ve been noodling on this and I’m really wondering what the market is here. Nobody wants one for CCW with 10 zillion plastic fantastics better-suited for the job.
And if you want a single-action for competition, why not get a 1911 with 10,000% more aftermarket and gunsmith support?
A weird thing happens when a company that originally makes something stops. Look what happened when COlt stopped making Pythons. No one was buying the damn things for years, Colt couldnt give them away. Stopped production, then a few years pass and youd think everyone on earth wanted one. Only guys like us like the P35. Everyone else wants a glock. FN/Browning stops production you’d think it was the most popular handgun ever made.

I could be wrong. I just don’t see the love for the High Power that I see for Colt wheel guns or the 1911.
I did guess wrong about the Colt Cobra.
