Me and the trusty 16 gauge Model 31 went hunting for three hours this evening. Or, yesterday I should say by the time you read this. After raining all day the sun came out. A cool sunny evening perfect for getting the sqwacks to stir.

Turns out it was a good decision to go. I bagged the daily limit again. This puts me at the incredible amount of 88 for the season. I never thought I’d see the day. Only 12 more would put me at 100. I got to say, the lure of 100 is calling me now. I have never seen a season like this. I have gotten the daily bag limit so many times this year I have done lost count. All of these squirrels have been taken in the same 20 acres of land. They are everywhere this year. I have no idea why. I am confident they had two litters this year due to the extremely mild winter we had. Even for Kentucky it was mild.

We are now into the peak color of fall leaves, and I thought you may enjoy looking at some of it below. Squirrels are not the only enjoyable thing about fall hunting before the frost takes all the fun out of being in the mountains.
