I was out looking around on the old plantation and decided to go see what my beavers had been up to.

I had figure there 2 beavers that moved in 5 years ago had to be 12 beavers by now and I was right. You can see two dens in the pictures below. A few days of hard rain had collapsed the roof in on them and you can see where they tried to cover the holes with some wood before giving it up and making some new homes on down the creek.

Buddy has a camp down by the river and those buggers have been busy cutting down stuff trees including a lot of small stuff. You have to be careful walking thru that area lest you fall into a patch of above-ground punji stakes. Unfortunately, they leave the cedars alone for the most part.

  2. James says:

    Industrious little critters!

  3. John M. says:

Where I grew up, beavers are hated and feared, mostly because they will turn your property into a wetland “protected” by the Eye of Sauron (EPA). You seem pretty equanimous about them. True?

    1. Rocketguy says:

On a related note, cleaned, bleached beaver skulls are really cool – stupid-big teeth that run all waaaay into the sockets. Naturally dead critters only, of course.

    2. Shawn says:

I enjoy having therm around, yea. let them grow from 2 into a family of about 12. the let me get withing a few feet of them now a days

      1. John M. says:

        There’s a beaver joke here…
