This is an epic boondoggle. I’m not sure it rivals the Trap Door Springfield for stupidity, but it certainly outdoes it for wastefulness. At least the Trap Door was actually better than the rifle it replaced.
Was the FAL busy? Can you not pick them up on remainder anymore?
Check me on this, but this thing isn’t the new main issue infantry weapon, is it? Some kind of specialty-issue thing, isn’t it? Kind of a SCAR 2.0?

At least that would make *some* sense. I like the idea of keeping the development wheels rolling, innovating, etc…but why this?

Did anybody check to see if this new 6.8×51 can kill a cavalry horse at 1000 yards? I bet it can.
