One of things Brady showed me the other day is the boonie hat he wore in Vietnam. Brady went to Vietnam as a member of 5th Special Forces but the last 6 months of his 18 months in the warm was transferred to the 199th Infantry Brigade where he was on a recon/hunter killer team. His boonie is a local tailor made example made from ERDL camo. You can see he had his name added to the top in case his body was rendered unrecognizable. He had some close calls.

Some very close calls. So close that you can see the bullet hole that went through the hat but missed his head.

They don’t come much closer than that.
