In that near perfect utopia of the Bay Area California where guns are so regulated as to might as well be jolly old England or Canada a woman has lost her lost head. Figuratively and literally this time.

Figuratively for dating and having a kid with a winner such as this.
And literally when the poor gals ex boyfriend decided to take a little too much off the top with a sword. Thank goodness guns are gone in lovely San Mateo or this could have really been bad.

From one of the news releases
“The attack took place Thursday at 11:50 a.m. at Laurel Street and Magnolia Avenue in San Carlos – located about 25 miles south of San Francisco, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department.”
“”The head was underneath the car, and she was laying in the back of the car — just severed,” neighbor Chapel Thorborne told local radio station KGO. “And they covered her up.”

There are not too many details yet but apparently the killer, Jose Raphael Solano Landaeta, was an ex-boyfriend with a restraining order.
“Landaeta, 33, of Hayward, CA and Castro had been dating one another, but she was granted a temporary restraining order against him earlier this year. The couple reportedly have a history of domestic violence.“
They had a dispute in the street in front of the victim’s, Karina Castro, house that turned into an execution/beheading. Definitely not going to help the neighborhood’s resales values.
The one good part of this story is that the kids were inside and apparently didn’t actually see the murder for whatever that’s worth.
There are a decent number of articles on this floating around so if you want more just google them. There are some more juicy bits (no pun intended) that I didn’t work in.
Ah Blue states when you’re so progressive you’ve gone full circle and ended up in the dark ages.
“Definitely not going to help the neighborhood’s resales values.“
In the Bay Area? Pfft. Check Zillow in a year. This is just another day ending in “y”.

Probably some anime inspired thing. That’s not the murder weapon but figured I’d include the meme I’m referencing so as not to add to the confusion.
