Not content with merely making barrels for the new 8.6 Blackout, Faxon Firearms has recently released the Overwatch rifle series, looking to combine top-quality bolt-action rifle building with the 8.6 Blackout caliber. Today we’re breaking down the two versions of the Overwatch Tactical.
The Overwatch is available in a more traditional style with the Overwatch Hunter, as well as two flavors of chassis builds in the Overwatch Tactical, in a 16″ barreled rifle and a 12″ barreled/braced pistol.

That seems very fast.

This is part of that Blackout fad of being able to run both supersonic and subsonic bullets out of the same chamber. The subsonic pills are extremely long and need a crazy twist rate to stabilize. Bullet weights range from 160 to 350 grain, per Wikipedia.
I’m not exactly a prospective customer, but I’d love to know if you can chamber an 8.6 BLK cartridge in a 6.5 Creedmoor chamber. IMHO the ease with which you can blow up your 5.56 with a 300 BLK is its Achilles’ heel. I’d like to know that they learned from that mistake but haven’t heard yet one way or another.
