The fellas over at pre64win.com shared pictures of this beautiful Model 70 in the .22 Hornet. I’ve always wanted to like the Hornet but never could get them to shoot as accurately as I think they should. One of these days I will give’em another go.

Got my old BRNO Hornet down to just over an inch at a hundred. I think better was possible, but the work/rewards paradigm indicated that was good enough for whatever I’d be trying to do with that one, so I quit.

I’ve said it here before, but Hornet accuracy can be substantially improved by using small pistol primers versus small rifle, and giving the neck a good crimp to hold the projectile tighter. Also, Hodgden L’il Gun is the best powder choice for the Hornet.
I got my Browning A-Bolt Micro Hunter to go from 2.5″ groups to about 0.50-0.7″ by doing the above.
