Spring Turkey season started Saturday and I have been trying my luck.
I did see two, in a tree way out of shotgun range and unwilling to come down despite my best efforts at seducing them.

That is the Moore Militaria ” gold tigers” now discontinued sorry to say. Sun light and camera makes them seem a lot brighter than they really are.
I did see this giant black snake sunning on a rock. Nice to know some one is keeping the rat population under control.

Large black snakes are not to be fiddled with. I knew a guy who stepped on a big one and it bit him on the inner thigh about 6″ below his courting tackle. Turned the entire inside of his thigh dark black and blue. He refused to go to the doctor. I figured he’d wake up dead from a blood clot but he proved me wrong.
