This poster on a new round was released at the NDIA conference last week. Another brought idea for a new unneeded rifle round to fight the Pootins ( not the Chinese of course) with. It’s nice knowing the US armed forces have time to think stuff like this up in between trying to understand white male rage and deciding which trans-woman to pick for the next recruiting video.

I have a 50 Beowulf and from a 300 grn HP at 2000 fps to a 500 grn FP at 1400 fps, it’s no slouch.  It’s also not that practical.  Outside of the ability to use some of the exotic BMG projectiles, I struggle to see what this brings to the table.  Does an API do much at near subsonic velocity?

Lot of that going around. The Ukraine stuff seems to have removed what little checks and balances remained around DoD spending.

I suspect it was inspired by J.D. Jones’ old .50 American Eagle wildcat. The latter stuffed 0.510″ projectiles into .50 Action Express cases, which the latter was originally designed to use instead of the adopted 0.500″. The new Grizzly round probably does the same trick using the longer .50 Beowulf case.
