The World 1500 Association (aka international PPC competition) has recently introduced an optic match. One of my mates brought along his German Merkel revolver to a recent match with an optic on top.
I had a look through the glass which I think was about 4x, and honestly, standing unsupported at 25 yards showed that I had so much wobble that I doubt I’d ever be able press the trigger.
I also found that acquiring a sight picture with a two handed arms-length hold could be tricky as well.
I realise this is a hunting piece, but overall, I think if I was gonna put an optic on a handgun it’d be a zero magnification red dot, versus a magnified scope with a reticle.

yea I cant shoot an optic equipped pistol worth a damn. even if its just a red dot
