I have been trying to get you all a review of the new 22 revolver from Colt since last year. Sadly due to the state of things, the one I asked for to T&E from Colt is still waiting. Luckily, my good friend Gabe bought one a couple days ago and took it out to do some testing for us.

Gabe shot it at 15 yards all off-hand using the double action for all shots since he is a much better revolver shot than I am. And it was an indoor range so he probably didn’t have much choice.

Very impressive results. I can imagine what it will do once he gets on a bench with match ammo and single action. He was very impressed with the trigger as I knew he would be. I don’t care what you hear, the newer snake guns have better triggers than the originals. Simple as.

Heh. I’m looking around right now for a .22 revolver. Given I’m a S&W guy, I will be going for a Model 17 (blued) or a 617 (stainless).

My main motivation is cheap practise. We can still get 22LR here in the land of Oz, but reloading components for centrefire guns are scarce and expensive.

I would not kick either a Smith 17/617 or one of these King Cobra .22s out of my safe.

I have wondered that myself. I had to constantly stop myself from calling it the Diamondback when writing that
