I know a lot of people probably don’t think much of Armscor’s ammo. Most 10MM users surely don’t think much of the vast majority of 10MM ammo on the market. I get it. It’s always closer to .40SW power than true 10MM. That’s fine with me to be honest. I don’t need 10mm Norma pressure ammo to go out and plink with my 10mm. I think of it the same way I would use .38 special for fun instead of 357 Mag rounds. Underwood makes my actual carry ammo for 10mm.

I’ve tried a lot of ” plinking” ammo for 10mm and while they are all mild, they lack the accuracy of the Armscor. I was out over the weekend shooting up some 1/4 and 1/2 full odd ball boxes of 10mm I’ve had laying around and had a box of armscor I thought I would shoot up for fun once I had warmed up,

Those two groups are from a full 25 yards off bags and bench. The top group is a full 9 round mag. The bottom is 5 round group. Those are 2 inch dots.

This head shot group below is from 15 yards off hand.

It’s always a pleasure when man, gun and ammunition come together.

I started reloading 9mm with some new powder recently…Vihtavuori N330 from Finland. I’d heard lots of good things about it, but it was unobtainable in Australia until recently.

I had half a dozen different sample loads made up for my 1911, and they were shooting pretty well, and then one load shot into half an X-ring…a bit more than 1 inch…at 50m! I thought it was a fluke, but I went back today with 50 rounds of that load, and shot a bunch of X-ring groups. The 25m groups were single holes.

    Happy days! 😊

vit is pretty much the gold standard here in the US. Word is, Vit N140 is the powder used in Federal Gold Medal 308 match loads. I use Vit for match 308a nd 556 loads

That’s interesting. I never messed with the Vit stuff because it was relatively expensive and…sort of foreign compared to Alliant, Hodgdon, etc. Recently, other mfg prices are skyrocketing while Vit is steadier. Will have to give them another look…and figure out their numbering.

Honestly it is the best. It is expensive but you can’t beat it

My favorite 10mm load is a Zero brand 180gr JHP over a Win LP primer and AA#9. Not a screaming load at 1184fps, but it’s accurate and still hits with authority.

That load runs great in my Kimber Eclipse 1911 and my Gen3 Glock 20.

I’ve never run any factory ammo through either pistol due to the cost, but that’s about to change. I was able to get a case of Magtech 180gr FMJ recently, so I’ll try out some factory ammo soon
