I am in a lot of Vet groups on facebook. Often times those guys will post photos of themselves on there thinking they are of no consequence. They have no idea how historic they are. The two Army sniper pics below are from one such case.
Last is a USMC sniper with M40 fighting in Hue.

I just noticed that the guy in the rear of the first pic has what looks like a 30 round mag in his weapon. This surprised me because I didn’t think 30 round mags were issued back in the day so I had a closer look and it appears that he has two 20 rounders taped together, one of which is upside down.
And here’s me having just had my annual rant about that only a few days ago… 😊
