Colt 70 series in .45 ACP by Dave Panciotti (Evolution Armory) out of Brentwood NH. After being laid off as an Audi mechanic, and apprenticing with a local gunsmith, in 2010 Dave worked for Sig Sauer where he met Mark Regenaur and the two became good friends. Dave worked in the 1911 department at Sig assembling guns, doing quality control, and repairing guns. Wanting to refine his skills further, in 2013 Dave applied not once, but three times to the Colt Custom Shop, a 5 hour round trip from his house. On his third attempt he told Tim Looney “I’m not leaving here without a job.” They sent him home with two Colt slides and instructions to machine the dovetails, noting that if did them well, he would get the job. Well, he got the job. At Colt, he primarily built Special Combat Government models as well as building ground-up custom guns. Dave was actually a stop on the Colt tour — on your right folks is the maniac who drives 2 hours every morning from NH to be here. After two formative years at Colt, the commute proved to be too much, so Dave left and joined his old friend Mark, who had left Sig to start a new company called Evolution Armory. The two friends acquired a 30 year old Bridgeport and some other machinery and the rest is history as they say.  Currently Evolution Armory is making some of the nicest 1911s in the industry. This Colt (in full DLC) is a stunning build and runs like a scalded dog. Grips are double diamond CNC checkered Ebony by WoodCaliber.
