In case you hadn’t noticed its been really hot. This has really put crimp on my activities over the weekend which is when I do a lot of prep work for the following week. The point is there likely won’t be the normal amount of posts for a few days. I had intended to do some shooting and testing of some stuff but 98 degree plus days really took all the morale and enthusiasm right out of me. I may just make it a light week altogether with only a couple posts a day. I get lazy in the hottest days of summer,

Shawn, I listened to a podcast this weekend on hunting bullet selection. The podcast guest was unorthodox to say the least and more-or-less said that his favorite bullet for North American big game (deer, elk, sheep, moose, bear) is the .223 77 gr Sierra TMK. As someone who has taken a lot of deer with a .223, I’m curious: What bullet do you prefer?

I’m glad to drop a link to the podcast episodes here or you can email me for it. Might be a nice opportunity to blather during a hot week without having to get too far from your iced tea.

I have used the Sierra 77 gr HPBT but not the TMK for deer. The regular HP works fine. My preferred bullet is the barnes 70gr solid copper hollow point for deer using a 5.556/.223 here recently the last few years.
