A friend came by over the weekend for a few days of hunting and brought this little auto. I did not have the time on it that I would have liked and didn’t want to use up all his ammo. But I was able to shoot a group from a seated position with a rest at 7 yards.

Once again weird DA/SA triggers cause me to shoot slightly left.

Sights are good. Nice and high. I expected it to be more snappy with full power 9mm loads and that alloy frame but it wasn’t. I was able to empty the mag on a falling steel plate before it hit the ground. You can do these things easy when you spend all your real time shooting full power .45 ACP.

It was a nice little gun and I was told it has a rare FBI experimental extractor. I don’t know. I am not a Smiff guy and certainly not a rare Smiff parts guy. I’m sure one of you will sound off and correct me. Apologies for this sort of review. I just didn’t have time to do the full testing but I know some of you would have wanted to see this old auto.

That’s a sweet gun. I had a S&W 952 once upon a time, which was an absolute delight.

My 39 shoots like a laser so not surprised this one shot well.
