Are there still a few people out there who think AK pattern type rifles are the last word on what a fighting rifle should be? Apparently the AK is so awesome that we have seen Ivan all but just buying AR15s from Colt over the last few years ( they would if they could). We all saw how fast the Taliban ditched their shit.

A blurb about it from TASS Rusisan News Agency.

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Semiautomatic Titan rifle of .308 caliber was designed for commandos. It is lighter than analogues, enjoys high precision and is already engaged in the zone of the Ukrainian operation, the Izvestia daily reported quoting SWC producer company.

“Semiautomatic Titan rifle of .308 caliber has been designed for Russian special task units. It can be used as a sniper or assault rifle. Experts say the new universal rifle has good characteristics and is in demand of scouts and commandos,” it said.

The rifle is reliable with precise and dense fire. “The density is 0.3 minutes of angle. It means a hit into a circle of less than one centimeter in diameter from a distance of 100 meters. The .308 caliber cartridge is powerful and reliable. Russia produces it in various options, including armor piercing. Therefore, the rifle is popular among the Russian military,” the company said.

I was just thinking about the final report from “Crowdstrike” about the reputed hack of the DNC servers by RUSSIA!!! which was given under oath by Shawn Henry on 12/12/2016 before the House permanent subcommittee on Intelligence.
No mention of RUSSIA!!! and no evidence that the servers were hacked from outside… LOOK, a squirrel!

It’s odd that they say it’s chambered in .308 vs metric 7.62mm. It’d be ironic if the Ruskis start running a gun thats chambered for NATO ammo.

I believe the spec for .308 is hotter than the spec for 7.62 NATO. This is the reverse of the case with .223/5.56 NATO.

Anyway, if I weren’t tied to the NATO spec, I’d go .308 which will fire 7.62 just fine.
