I’m not a guy who drinks a lot. Being an ex-grunt, I know what “drinking a lot” means, and I don’t do that any more, but my wife, who drinks even less than me, is constantly up my arse about my drinking. “It’s only because I’m concerned about you” she says.

I think its a woman thing. You could be Jesus Christ, but your wife would still find one fucking thing to complain about, because they need to have some means to control a man.

If women didn’t have pussies they would’ve gone extinct millions of years ago.

If you need more amusement in your life watch the video and read the transcript of Elon Musk’s interview at the Conservative Political Action Convention.
It is available at “The Verge”.
In other News the Whitehouse announced that the President and His Attorney General are the sole determinants of the Law., that no Court has jurisdiction over the Executive Branch.
The “Truth Social” post where Donald Trump posted a picture of Himself wearing the Ermine and the Crown of a King was clarifying, when someone tells you who they are, believe them.

      Tom,

Serious question: What did you think taming the Deep State and the permanent bureaucracy was going to look like? America’s Constitution has a long and robust tradition of a muscular executive, from Hamilton’s writings to Jackson to Lincoln to FDR.

Now, I’m pretty confident that we are not going to get a Trail of Tears or the mass slaughter of 3% of America’s population. But neither of those are regarded as having been terribly awful things for the Constitution. It marched on.

So what did you think bringing the unelected bureaucrats of the Deep State and the permanent bureaucracy to heel was going to look like?

I thought that “Bringing the deep State to heel” would involve respect for the Law and some degree of competence.
Was dismissing all of the employees at the National Nuclear Security Agency with no notice sensible?
How about firing the workers at the Pantex Plant that build our Nuclear weapons?
And if you are “Rooting out Fraud” why fire ALL of the Inspector’s General and 8,000 IRs collection agents?
Have you bothered to look at what happened to the indictment of Eric Adams?
Maybe take the time to read Danielle Sassoon’s letter of resignation…maybe ignore it because she’s part of the Federalist Society.
You are paying attention to what Musk and Trump are saying and I am paying attention to what they are doing.

      Tom,

Which laws have been violated? Are they Constitutional?

It’s hardly a surprise that when Musk re-routes the river to clean out the Augean stables that a few valuable things get washed downstream. Perhaps those who have been fouling DC for generations could take a modicum of responsibility for why it got the way it is? No?

Did the firing and re-hiring of these employees cause any real harms? I’m old enough to remember when Twitter was going to go down permanently on November Whatever of 2022 because of Musk’s changes. I note that it still seems to be working fine. This is Musk’s MO and he tends to get good results from it. Will this time be different? Perhaps.

Perhaps all of the Inspectors General who stood mute while these abuses went on and on and on aren’t worth their paychecks?

I have in fact looked at the indictment of Eric Adams. It seems odd to me that the pettiest of petty Democratic Party corruption suddenly got attention after Adams started making noises about all the problems the national Democrats’ open borders policies were causing in his city. The alleged fraud goes back to the Obama administration. I suppose the DOJ was busy.

And speaking of the DOJ, I have no interest in reading Ms. Sassoon’s no-doubt deeply principled letter. Instead, I’d rather look at what Ms. Sassoon DID.

The DOJ drummed up a phony investigation into one of the two major parties’ Presidential candidates? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ coordinated a campaign to overturn the 2016 election and thwart the voters of the 50 United States? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ selectively leaked the results of their ongoing phony investigation, but only in ways to hurt the duly-elected president? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ pulled out every stop to punish every possible J6er for the panty raid on January 6th 2021, resulting in the most shameful episode of widespread politicized justice in American history? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ went after pro-life protestors? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ went after parents who objected to the sexualization of their children at school board meetings? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The DOJ went after the former President himself with phony, trumped-up and novel legal theories? Ms. Sassoon slept.

The Biden crime family sold America to places like China for decades? Ms. Sassoon slept.

Oh, but dropping petty corruption charges, the likes of which would be possible against probably any mayor of any city larger than 500,000? Oh, NOW the principles come roaring to the surface? Come on.

Tom, you seem to be taking the last month pretty hard. I’d recommend tuning out. I myself took about an 8 month break from the news in the first part of Biden’s term. It was very healthy for me, and I’m not sure tuning back in come August of 2021 was a good decision. (I kept checking for one of the wunderkinden Sullivan, Austin or Blinken to resign or be fired—this required the intervention of America’s voters three years later.) Take a year off. Tune back in when the 2026 midterm campaign season is going hard. We’ll know a lot more by then.

A lot of piling up for the state to come pick up. Sad seeing everything people owned in a huge pile in their front yard ruined from water. Supposedly you can’t even wash it off due to contamination. Im not so sure thats true. I dont think the sewer treatment plant got flooded but it must have. I know the water purification plant did go under. Couldnt drink the tap water until yesterday
