Everyone under the sun who has went more than 10 days in the the gun world knows about the G11. The caseless rifle project from way back in the day. Not so long ago in my mind but I am sure is ancient history going back to before Christ for some readers of a more recent vintage.
These photos turned up on instagram a week or so ago and I snatched them before I got banned again for being too cool.
I still to this day wonder what exactly they thought they’d be accomplishing. What real savings? What performance? Yeah I know what it was supposed to do but who the hell really believes that?

I’m an Engineer, and a great believer that form follows function. If something looks good it usually (but not always) is.
Also things that look ugly and stupid are often pieces of shit.
Compare that G11 thing, which is about as attractive as Hillary Clinton’s arse, with an StG-44, AK, AR-15, Lee-Enfield, Garand or whatever, and you immediately know its worthless crap just from how it looks.
WTF were they thinking?
