Colt 70 series in .45 ACP built by Nelson Ford out of Phoenix AZ. This gun features Kings 201 strong side thumb safety, a Novak rear sight and Nelson’s pathognomonic front sight. Nelson still works on pistols, but he crossed over to the dark side—the wheel gun guys got him. Post build modifications: checkering by the venerable Pete Single, EGW slide stop, Eduardo Cafe mag release, re-rust, and as of this morning, a new 3-hole long and lightened trigger by Wilson Combat, installed by an amateur in his garage. It feels good and it shoots a pencil, so it should work. Click. And, baby got new shoes–OG Cocobolo grips by Guy Hogue. Custom means the way I want it. Finally, I now have 4434 followers. I want you all to know that I have made love to most of your moms.

Crossed over to the dark side? I’d call it seeing the light myself.

Ole Nelson sure made a sweet looking piece there.

And in breaking news, I competed in the state pistol championships held at my club last weekend and won the Stock Semiauto class with my SIG P226. Given my preference for revolvers, nobody was more surprised than me!

        Nah, no pics unfortunately.

One of my mates took home one of his targets to show his wife. 12 shots from the holster (so 6, reload, then 6), standing unsupported at 25 yards in 35 seconds, then rinse and repeat. He put all 24 rounds into the 10 ring.

That sort of shooting under intense competition pressure sure is something to see. He’s a retired army Full Colonel and ex Captain of the Australian Army shooting team, so he’s had a *lot* of trigger time. 🙂
