From 1911_purview

Colt 70 series 1911 in .45 ACP —an absolutely drum tight (on Acurails) shooting machine with a Barsto hard fit barrel, hand checkering, blended beaver tail, and Bomar rear sight, by retired police officer Bill Thompson (Bill’s Custom Automatics). This gun came out of Anchorage Alaska, and was made by Bill when he lived there, prior to moving to Mississippi. The slide was engraved by his dear friend Jim White, who still lives in Alaska. Jim is a master engraver and the man behind Ed Brown’s beautiful Signature 1911s. Because this gun was begat in The Land of the Midnight Sun, I think it’s only right that the grips are 10,000-year-old mammoth tusk made by Dan Chinnock.

I think it looked better when it had these grips on it, but reckon I could get used to it anyway.
