The reflecting pool has been a mess since it was built. It wouldn’t even hold water. The NPS did an awful lot more than “paint it blue.”
While there are things I wish the Trump team was doing more of, and things I wish the Trump team was doing an awful lot less of, I actually think that putting DC back together is a great accomplishment. It’s a clear, tangible marker that decline is a choice. Americans don’t have to live with hollowed-out cities full of savages and zombies.
