A real classic. The Model 37 was Remington’s attempt to compete with the superior Winchester Model 52. Now, I say the Model 52 is better, and it is, nut that isn’t meant to be taken as the Model 37 is a mediocre rifle. It isn’t, it is pretty damn ed good too! It has a very vocal fan base of guys who believe (incorrectly) that is is better than a 52. If you ever see one that looks as good as this one, I’d recommend buying it.

I have never seen some one add a scope mounting target block to the holes in a rear receiver meant for a rear target iron sight.

Do you still have the rear sight?

I have seen the adapter block that uses those holes to mount a “regular” target sight. Redfield made them, if I recall correctly.

I know of a genuine Remington rear sight not attached to a gun, is mostly why I asked.

Says the guy who dangled his Heavy Varmint 223 under my snout until I finally bought one myself. Loves 77-grain Sierra Match Kings, and it already had a 6-18 Leupold VX-II on it.

Where did you get your other scope knobs, if you don’t mind me asking. I don’t much care for tall turrets and caps.

back in the day leupold would sell them in a two pack for about 20 bucks. the more high end VarX-IIIs came with both type for you to swap around
