Before we start this, I want to state that ultimately true safety, or at least the closest we can attain to it since we are all fallible humans, is completely the responsibility of the gun user/owner or anyone who comes into contact with one. We all know mechanical devices fail all the time. Even redundancies fail when sometimes everything goes wrong in a perfect storm. Guns are deadly tools and must be treated like that at all times. Everyone here knows or should know this.
Now. That being said, I believe even though all common sense and even the brain power of a potato still on the vine failed because of this absolute dipshit, the kid would still be alive had the glock had a manual safety. There is a reason the glock is so well liked by the least trained people and even the highest trained people. It is the fastest and easiest to get it into action. There is a price to that no matter how hard glock claims the glock has ” three safeties.

According to Sheriff Grady Judd, a family that moved from Connecticut four months ago was attempting to buy dinner at a drive-thru when their credit card declined. Deputies said the father grew distracted while searching for another way to pay.
PCSO said as he bent over to check his card, he removed a Glock handgun from his waistband and placed it on the vehicle seat. Turbo retard that needs to be in prison. Why remove it? Is he such a fat disgusting fuck that bending over was too hard to do with a gun on the belt?
The 3-year-old child, who was playing in the backseat, grabbed the firearm and pulled the trigger, according to deputies. Did this idiot set it in the back seat near the kid? Kid was out of the car seat?
Officials said the father heard a loud pop before frantically running around the vehicle, while a bystander called 911. First responders transported the child to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead at 7:30 p.m.
Deputies said the child was to turn four years old in four days.
Given enough time a child could figure out how to set the headspace on an M2 Browning and fire off a shot. But for the hopefully short lapse of attention and judgement made by an imbecile, maybe a thumb safety or decocking lever buys you enough time to realize and get it away from little hands.
