This year has felt like another dull uninteresting year for film mostly. We got a lot of the normal goyslop and standard crap but, so far, we have gotten two interesting films, Barbie and now The Killer via Netflix. David Fincher’s latest project features the always-great Michael Fassbender as the titular killer. It is apparentlyContinue reading “The Killer 2023”

Massacre Mafia Style
It’s not very often that you get the privilege of seeing a film that is 100 percent the creator’s vision, without interference from producers or studios. The ones that do slip out are few and far between. These are usually small and independent films. They are passion projects that often take years to complete, justContinue reading “Massacre Mafia Style”
The Wild Bunch
I love a good shoot-out movie. I have always loved them and very few are as iconic and legendary as The Wild Bunch. It was at one time the most graphic and intense shoot-out on screen. It was controversial at the time and a lot of people complained about it as being ultra-violent. The movieContinue reading “The Wild Bunch”
Smell The Napalm: The Story Behind This Incredible Scene
This guy on youtube has been making a video series on the making of Apocalypse Now with background history and details that blows the mind. This is one of his best ones yet. It is worth the watch.
PLANET TERROR
I love Planet Terror. When the Grindhouse double feature came out, I was one of four people in the theater and enjoyed every second of it. Deathproof was pretty good. But, Planet Terror was great. The film is a pure homage to exploitation films done in a very loving way and it was done perfectlyContinue reading “PLANET TERROR”
Best Seller 1987
Best Seller is one of those great neo-noir crime thrillers from the 1980s. It stars Twitter hero James Woods and the always excellent Brian Dennehy co-stars. In Best Seller, Woods plays suave hitman Cleve, while Dennehy plays a cop and true-crime author named Dennis Meechum. The story starts in the early 70s when a teamContinue reading “Best Seller 1987”
The Eiger Sanction
The Eiger Sanction is a movie that I like to tell people is as close as you can get to a live-action version of The Venture Brothers. If that doesn’t sell you on it, then I don’t know why I even bother to talk to you about movies. Made in 1975, The Eiger Sanction is basedContinue reading “The Eiger Sanction”
The Driller Killer
Today we have a review from my friend, Josh Hadley of 1201beyond.com who I do a podcast with on The Last Movie Outpost youtube channel. “This film should be played LOUD” So announces a title card at the beginning of The Driller Killer, the first film directed by Abel Ferrara… as Ferrara. Once labeled “theContinue reading “The Driller Killer”
NAPOLEON Trailer
One of the other boys at Last Movie Outpost has the scoop on the new Napoleon flick from Ridley Scott. In my opinion, Ridly has lost whatever it was that made him a great director in past decades but I am hopeful about this one, Ridley Scott knows historical epics, with big scenes and ragingContinue reading “NAPOLEON Trailer”
Movies For Gun Guys
Guys who really like guns also tend to like movies, particularly movies with gunplay in them. No big surprise. Any movie with gunplay and action gets attention from the gun community, but there are some movies that hold a special place in serious gun enthusiasts’ hearts. These are “Gun Guy Movies”. What sets them apartContinue reading “Movies For Gun Guys”
